Amazon.com, Obama and Terrorists
On Amazon.com, if you happened to be shopping for Halloween costumes… let’s say you wanted to be a terrorist this year… and typed in the words, “Terrorist Costume” in their search engine, a single result would have generated:
Wonderful, isn’t it?
… In a scary right-wing hell-fire and damnation kind of way…
In my own “terrorist” search on amazon.com, the results also yielded Obama t-shirts.
Great.
Palin- A Rogue Who is Truly Unhinged
I have finally identified a situation that is even more dangerous than that of the Sarah Palin we have,
until recently, been subjected to… the Sarah Palin that has been completely muzzled, censored, and had every move dictated by the McCain camp’s handlers.
Truly, I didn’t think the Republican Party could be more weird and out-of-touch with this country than what we’ve already been forced to witness.
I was wrong.
This new Sarah Palin, this rogue, this view of a woman so completely out of her league, exercising adolescent rebellion against those charged with babysitting her has completely taken the cake.
Palin is not simply wrong for this country… she apparently isn’t even sane.
She is paranoid, and she is a freak of nature unlike anything this nation has seen in quite some time.
This woman shouldn’t be given the responsibility to help run a flower shop, let alone our country.
It’s no wonder her every move, every uttered syllable has until recently, been so closely monitered by McCain-and-friends.
We’ve been inundated with rumors, straight from McCain’s camp, that Sarah Palin no longer trusts her handlers… that she blames them for her luke-warm reception after the RNC… that it is somehow their fault that she has appeared to be unprepared and completely uninformed.
In light of this, she decided it would be best to handle herself from here on out… and boy is she creating a ruckus.
On Saturday, during a campaign stop in Des Moines, IA, Palin started yapping about how Obama’s economic plan- specifically his tax plan- is not the best solution for Americans.
No surprises there… they’ve been (wrongly) stating this for quite some time.
She did, however, flip the script a bit, and took this assertion a step further, claiming that Obama’s plan is similar to what is current policy in other countries, “… countries that are not free”.
Woah.
As the article so aptly states, Palin has become unhinged.
Now it certainly isn’t new that the Republicans and Democrats disagree- fundamentally- on many issues… that is, in fact, the reason for the two separate parties… the reason they run against each other as opponents in elections.
To say, however, that the other guy, simply because his plan is different from hers (and that’s assuming, Lord help us, that the woman actually understands what the hell her party’s plan even is), if elected, will turn us into some scary-ass Communist state is scandalous.
It’s a flat out fuckin’ lie, and you don’t have to be a Rhodes Scholar to understand that…
… Which is why Sarah Palin gets no free pass here.
There is no excuse for her to be spewing such vile bullshit.
None.
This woman is scary as hell…
It’s as if she has been transplanted here from some other not-so-good time in our country’s past… slavery, perhaps… or the McCarthy era…
If you love hatred and lies… if you love ignorance and racism… if you love fear and scare-tactics… if you love weird outdated right-wing Christian ideologies more than you love this great nation…
Then vote for her.
You will deserve whatever the hell you get.
John McCain, Ambulances and Meet the Press
I watched John McCain on Meet the Press this morning.
Wow.
What a cranky old man.
Tom Brokaw was a gracious host… and wasn’t terribly tough on McCain… though he did ask him a few hot-button issue-type questions…
A few times, I really thought McCain was about to blow a fuse or have a coronary or something.
I wonder if they had an ambulance standing by… you know… just in case?
Shit.
This man is not only a danger to our country, but he’s a danger to his own health…
I have serious concerns about a man who wants to lead the free world and can’t hold it together- keep his temper in check- during an interview in which he’s simply asked about his sagging numbers in the polls.
Barack Obama, in contrast, has been called an Arab, a terrorist, a n*gger, a halfbreed Muslim (not that there’s anything wrong with being a halfbreed or a Muslim), a Communist, a Socialist, a Marxist, his wife has been portrayed as a scary left-wing black panther nut, he’s had his life threatened, his patriotism and citizenship questioned…
… And has managed to remain calm and likeable, presidential in demeanor, and he never lost his sense of humor, let alone his temper as a result of any of it.
Obama is simply ready to lead.
He has handled himself so well in contrast to McCain that I find myself believing that Senator Barack Obama was born to take on this role.
These are legitimately scary times… certainly scary enough without the added hate-fueled lies that the McCain campaign has endorsed and helped spread about the Dems and Barack Obama.
McCain is a mess.
Democratic Senators’ Homes Vandalized… Why Is McCain So Quiet?
Tonight we hear news that Missouri Senators Claire McCaskill and Russ Carnahan have had their 
homes vandalized.
Authorities found words spray painted on the properties… “traitor”… “Bailout for China is treason”… and my personal favorite, “Psalm 2″.
For those who may not be aware, here is Psalm 2, from the Bible, in its entirety:

and the peoples plot in vain?

against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,

Both of the victims- representatives- are Democrats.
The news comes on the heels of the case of Ashley Todd… it was mere days ago that the public learned what a race-baiting liar the woman truly is.
I have some thoughts…
McCain’s campaign has done its very best to paint Barack Obama, as well as Democrats, as the racist, anti-American nut-jobs.
Yet it is the GOP, John McCain and Sarah Palin that have been encouraging the divisive hatred that has truly polarized this country.
It is a McCain supporter- and campaign volunteer- that attempted to incite further hatred by lying about being viciously attacked and mutilated by a black man- an act of violence motivated by her support of Senator John McCain.
McCain/Palin rallies and right wing blog sites are full of racism and hatred.
People claim Obama is a socialist… a communist… an Arab… a terrorist… unpatriotic…
… Others subscribe to ridiculous theories that he wasn’t even born in the U.S., but rather in Kenya or Indonesia.
Throughout all of it, Barack Obama has been calm and steady under pressure.
He has never fought hatred with hatred… he never stooped to McCain-and-cronies’ dispicable levels… and instead has led by example.
By remaining consistent he has exposed the hypocrisy of a nation in crisis.
Over and over again the GOP has done its best to trip Obama and his supporters… they have perpetuated an environment of lies and ugliness…
… When Ashley Todd- one of their own- claimed to have been attacked by a rabid Obama supporter, it was the McCain campaign that exploited the entire ordeal…
They stand eerily quiet on this night, while Ms. Todd is incarcerated because of her lies… lies she told on their behalf… lies they have yet to condemn…
Eerily quiet as two Senators, Democrats who represent the state of Missouri, have had their homes vandalized by McCain supporters.
Their silence speaks volumes…
… And is much louder than any words they could ever bother vocalizing.
Puppies, the GOP and Denial
I believe I’ve identified one of McCain’s campaign tactics…
If bad press rears its ugly head, step one is to attempt to diffuse it… and when that doesn’t work…
Deny.
Even if the reason for the bad press is legitimate and true, and campaign spokespeople- and candidates themselves- have already acknowledged it…
… even if it can easily be proven, deny the hell out of it.
I’ve witnessed this at least twice now.
Initially, the tactic was used with regards to the hateful garbage that was coming out of angry conservatives’ mouths at recent McCain/Palin rallies.
With people losing their damn minds, screaming such horrific nonsense as, “Kill him!”, “Treason!”, “Terrorist!” and “Off with his head!”, the GOP initially tried to pretend it was no big deal.
Never mind the fact that they were inciting racial hatred and violence…
Whatever.
I mean really… those damn liberals take everything too seriously.
Death threats?
Stop being so literal! It’s not like anyone’s really going to kill Obama…
Right?
Regardless, playing the nut-role didn’t translate very well in the polls, and the Republicans found themselves scrambling… the public at large, it seemed, expected them to condemn such behavior… not condone it.
So next thing you know, suddenly Palin-Poodle and McCain-Maverick begin condemning the remarks… they waited for their numbers to rise in the polls… and…
… Nothing happened.
Most likely nothing happened because regular ol’ America is tired of the b.s.
We are smart enough to realize that Frick and Frack over here with the GOP started the negativity to begin with.
Hell, days before their campaign took a turn towards the 11th century, they warned us they were going to do it… it was time to get nasty.
Regardless, their little impromptu KKK time just didn’t work.
Not in their favor anyway.
So the next thing they did was…
Deny.
Suddenly the blogosphere was filled with conspiracy theories about mainstream media… how as much as we regular Joes heard the shit with our own ears… it never happened.
No one had yelled for Obama’s death and decapitation… that damn liberal media made it all up.
After inciting it… then very publicly acknowledging it by pretending to condemn it… suddenly Palin and McCain are playing dumb… denying the hatred and death threats were ever a part of their rallies.
They want you to think it never happened.
I call bullshit.
Seriously.
Thankfully none of that ”it never happened” crap ever made it as far as a single reputable news source.
Sorry- bloggers really do not count.
Fast forward the clock to just this past week, and we have news that the McCain Campaign has spent over $150,000 on Sarah Palin’s wardrobe.
We also learn that McCain’s highest-paid campaign staffer is…
Wait for it…
… Sarah Palin’s make-up artist.
The woman made damn near $23,000 in the first two weeks of October.
Uhhh…
Wow.
Is that more than, say, their foreign policy advisor made?
You betcha!
Sounds a little excessive for a puppy dog… even if it is all grown up and wearing lipstick.
I don’t think Joe-the-plumbing-six-pack can actually relate to someone who spends more on clothes and make-up in 7 weeks than he spends in a lifetime… for his entire family.
Initially, McCain’s campaign did their best to spin the shit outta this thing…
They aren’t keeping the clothing, they assured a very concerned America… no worries… the items will be auctioned off for charity or simply given back…
See?
No harm, no foul.
Again the campaign waits with bated breath…
… “Will they believe us? Will the polls tip back to our favor?”…
Hell no.
So now what?
Now we suddenly see Palin on the boob-tube claimin’ nobody spent that type of money on her clothing…
… How she’s so frugal… gosh, if people could only see how frugal her family really is…
Whatever.
Note to Sarah-
We aren’t talking about your family, pit bull lady.
We’re talking about the campaign’s spending… on you… at Neimann-Marcus and Sak’s…

The Liar, The Beast and… The Political Campaign
The GOP wants you to believe they are not capitalizing on the fear and hate that exists within white America.
They want you to think they are above playing race games, pitting stereotypical, helpless young white people against just as stereotypical, violent black people
The GOP is lying right to your fuckin’ faces…
They almost got away with it this time.
We were all horrified to hear the story of 20 year old Ashley Todd, a young supporter of John McCain.
According to the tale, Ms. Todd, while attempting to withdraw $60 from an ATM in Pittsburgh, PA, was robbed.
The perpetrator of the crime was said to be a tall black man.
He apparently approached her, took her money… and upon viewing Todd’s pro-McCain bumper sticker, beat her into oblivion… even going so far as to carve a “B” onto her face…
… Just let her know that she was being punished for being a McCain supporter.
The media, of course, jumped all over this.
So did McCain’s campaign.
They were happy as hell…
In fact, Senator McCain’s Pennsylvania headquarters immediately went into spin overdrive, releasing details of the attack to the press- even before the police could verify them.
They did their best to capitalize on this crime.
How scary… a helpless young white woman… ostensibly minding her own business… attacked by a scary knife-wielding black mad man who was intent on exacting his radical politically motivated reverenge by way of carving a “B” into her face, representing the first initial of his presidential candidate’s name.
Shit.
Are our children safe?
Shall we “pro-Americans” begin locking our doors at night?
Not only do we have scary terrorists on the loose… supported by none other than that black-ass liberal… but now we have scary black thugs doing the bidding of “That One”!
Oh, the horror!!
Except that it was all bullshit.
The whole story…
From Ashley Todd’s being robbed at the ATM to the backwards “B” that was carved into her cheek…
… Was a lie.
There was no black man…
… Hell, there was no crime.
Political attack my ass.
The only political attack occuring in Pittsburgh that night was the attack the GOP launched against Barack Obama.
In Ashley Todd, McCain supporters thought they’d finally found their (r)ace in the hole.
Wrong.
She is currently being held in county jail, pending a mental evaluation.
In other words, she’s crazy as a loon.
Sigh.
She’s been charged with making a false report to police.
She’s the scary one… She’s the unhinged one… She’s the one who just ain’t right…
… It’s not Barack Obama.
Scott McClellan, D.L. Hughley and Barack Obama
Scott McClellan has endorsed Obama.
He made his announcement today on D.L. Hughley’s show on CNN.
Not sure how I feel about Mr. McClellan…
I mean…
Whatever.
Regardless, it’s worth noting that he is the 2nd previous Bush Administration member to come over to the dark side.
